December began with a couple of flashes and more of the same “cloudless rain” on the west coast. First up was a circular flash from Sydney:
That was followed later in the afternoon by another circular flash from Albany. Read Cliffhanger’s related weather update here.
The picture below shows the clear skies on the north west coast, while the picture following it shows the radar telling a completely different story. Again.
You’ll also notice in the above image that Darwin is not only sending out a strong and longer than usual beam, it also has a faint circular flash occurring. The beams had been happening regularly since late afternoon, and all of them were directed toward the middle third of Timor.
